At the airport in Perth, all is well. I bought a watch for wearing in the pool! Hugh a friend of Phyl drove us here and we nearly had an accident. All is well though. Thai Airline in Perth and Thai airport lounge; Still Thursday 10.00 am well here we are flying 38,000 ft. towards Thailand. We have met up with one other tour member and she is from Albany. Of course we called ourselves the three amigos. We meet the rest of the tour group in Tel Aviv as they are travelling via Hong Kong. I enjoyed the inflight entertainment and watched “The life of Pi” finally. We are travelling 850km hour and its -51° c outside. A line from the movie: "the whole of life becomes an act of letting go." The second movie was “The Book of Eli”….. At the Thai airport we wandered around having adventures as we went. I obtained the password for Wi-Fi but wasn't successful! All went well and our 9 hours went faster than we thought. We had dinner guarding our trolleys and luggage parked outside the cafe. We ended up chatting to fellow travelers to Israel who asked for more details as to why we were going, these ladies had family they were travelling to and were intrigued about our tour. Also we had to undergo in depth interviews on our intentions in Israel by Israeli officials. Initially I thought they were going to put on a concert as they put up music stands to hold up their paperwork! We passed through this “ordeal” and they were really quite polite but intent on having a safe flight! We met up with more of the tour group which was good, two cousins from Melbourne and a couple from Tasmania. We did not sit together which was unfortunate, but it was a good flight. The plane was older and no individual TV Screens, but we mainly slept through long trip. Day 1 Friday 12th April Arrival in Israel- Valley of Ella, Bet Shemesh, Jaffa, Tel Aviv Saturday Well we are in the bus ready for our 2nd day. Yesterday we were met by the rest of the tour group and started our tour. We saw where David slew Goliath, then up to where David hid from Saul and also the Valley of Ella. Then we moved up to Joppa/Jaffa. We stayed overnight at a lovely hotel which served beautiful food and was right on the beach. After a good night’s sleep we were ready for a new day. We saw interesting sites including a few sights! We had a lovely lunch with very friendly staff.
